I had the privilege of being a DT for Coach Roc my 4 years at UD. I can honestly say my experience on the blooDLine is second to none. First and foremost Roc is a players coach, he made every single day (even 100 degree days in August) enjoyable. He coaches with so much passion and ALWAYS found a way to loop something positive into his feedback. He also has such a deep understanding of the game, that certain things such as your first step and rip were crucial but gave us plenty of arrows in our quiver when it came to pass rush moves, and being prepared for our opponents. He understood your strengths as a player and helped cater those tools to be the best player you can be. From his glass have full attitude to his dedication to my success, I am thankful everyday for my time I spent on the D-Line with Andy Aracri

I spent most of the early part of my football career playing inside linebacker. It wasn’t until the end of my high school sophomore season that I made the switch to defensive line. I was incredibly raw, lacked the technical skills and experience of playing defense in the trenches. The off-season between my sophomore and junior year is when I began working with Coach Roc. He immediately brought a wealth of information, technical expertise, credibility and an immense passion for the game, the position and his players. In my first season working with Coach Roc, my game made some of its biggest improvements as he began to build my defensive line “tool box”. This became the foundation on which I would continue to improve my game for my remaining years playing for Coach Roc and beyond that as I progressed to the collegiate level. I quickly realized in my first few collegiate practices how high of caliber Coach Roc is as many drills and techniques he had taught were easily translated to the next level and even duplicated. Coach Roc’s knowledge, energy and passion for the game is unwavering and is reflected by the men he coaches.

When I look back at my entire career within football, I can confidently say that Coach Roc had the biggest impact on my development as a player. I went to The University of Dayton with the same aspirations that we all do as kids, and that was to play in the NFL. I knew that I wasn't big enough, fast enough yet, strong enough yet, but that if I was partnered with the right coach, I could possibly take my talents to that level. I didn't know Coach Roc prior to my commitment because UD was in the process of hiring a new D-Line Coach, and I didn't really get to know him until my sophomore year when I was able to make an impact with the defense and start. Coach Roc is one of the best in the business when it comes to identifying what type of D-Lineman you are. From there, he knows exactly what drills and what techniques will help not only improve what you're good at, but what you aren't that good at. A personal example for me is in my run game ability. Coach Roc drastically improved my run game ability because he knew what techniques to tailor my game to since I'm not your normal 320-pound interior lineman. Those techniques helped tremendously when I Grad-Transferred to UNH and was a run first D-Lineman. I'm not 6'5 325, but when I walked into my tryouts with the Falcons, BC Lions, and The Roughriders, I had more confidence than everyone there because of the techniques that Coach Roc taught me. That I can say without a doubt.

Coach Roc is the absolute best! He taught me how to set and achieve goals in my football career. The details in his coaching and techniques are top-notch. He makes sure that you fully understand what is being taught. He is patient and very innovative in the drills and training techniques. When arriving at Akron, a lot of the techniques are on par with what was taught. If you’re looking to be a better D-lineman and especially pass rush techniques, I am confident that Coach Roc will provide you with all you need to achieve your goal.

Training and playing under Coach Roc definitely made me a better athlete and player. The dedication and time he puts into structured work outs and drills, played a big role in my development as a player. Coach Roc has also expanded my knowledge on the position and game, allowing me to play free and more confident. Coach Roc teaches not only technique and skill, but instills discipline, dedication, hard work, and resilience. All of which aids you in becoming a better player/athlete and in life.
